A Amazon SES Case Study
Kenshoo, a global leader in predictive marketing software, needed to shorten time to market, eliminate differences between staging and production, and free engineers from infrastructure maintenance so they could focus on product development. To address these challenges, Kenshoo moved core services to AWS and used Amazon SES as its main SMTP server while adopting other AWS offerings across its Kenshoo Social stack.
Kenshoo implemented a cloud architecture on AWS—using Amazon EC2, Amazon SQS, Amazon SES, Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, CloudFormation and other services—to create identical, highly available environments and enable dynamic scaling. As a result (with Amazon SES handling SMTP and AWS managing the rest), Kenshoo achieved 99.999% availability, scaled to handle a 500% traffic spike in minutes, processes hundreds of millions of events per day, cut time to market by 70%, and reduced infrastructure staffing needs while moving to biweekly releases.
