HTC’s Connected Services division, which builds cloud features like BlinkFeed, HTC Share, HTC Backup, and HTC Get Started, needed a way to provision global infrastructure quickly and handle unpredictable demand while keeping tight release cycles. To meet those needs the team adopted Amazon SES as part of its broader Amazon Web Services deployment to provide managed cloud capabilities and email delivery support for its customer‑facing services.

HTC migrated core services to AWS (using EC2, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Auto Scaling, and Amazon SES among others) so it could scale automatically, deploy in multiple Availability Zones, and reduce latency for users worldwide. The Amazon SES/AWS solution helped HTC manage configuration for more than 30 million devices, move terabytes of customer data every day, accelerate time‑to‑market (enabling rapid launches like HTC Share), and free developers to focus on innovation instead of infrastructure.
