Hi-Media is an internet publisher whose popular photo blogging platform, Fotolog, required a new infrastructure with massive, scalable storage and a rapid six-month migration. The company needed a solution that could handle 32 terabytes of existing user photos and accommodate unpredictable future growth.

The vendor, Amazon Web Services (AWS), provided a solution using Amazon S3 for storage and Amazon EC2 for hosting. This allowed the new platform to be launched within six months. The implementation by Amazon Web Services increased storage capacity, eliminated hardware management concerns, and resulted in over $50,000 in hardware cost savings.
