Canadian Pharmacists Association Uses AWS to Ensure Safe Use of Medications

Canadian Pharmacists Association, the national voice for Canadian pharmacists, needed to modernize its infrastructure and digital tools to improve medication safety and patient care — including new services like MyMedications.ca and an updated RxTx mobile app. To support these initiatives the association moved workloads to AWS and adopted services such as Amazon SES for email, Amazon S3 for content hosting, and Amazon DynamoDB for real‑time notifications.

Using Amazon SES alongside other AWS services, CPhA built a scalable, automated platform that hosts APIs and content on Canadian soil, speeds clinician access to RxTx, and supports new notification and app features. The move to AWS — including Amazon SES for streamlined email automation — cut operating costs by about 40%, improved scalability and flexibility, and enabled faster delivery of digital medication resources.
