VivaKi, the digital transformation arm of Publicis Groupe, helps agencies consolidate advertising data and deliver daily campaign effectiveness summaries. The company struggled because ad-server reports lacked the audience and geographic detail agencies required, and its legacy 200‑server in‑house cluster was slow, unable to handle traffic spikes, and caused reporting delays during peak periods.

VivaKi rebuilt its SkySkraper analytics stack on AWS—using EC2, S3, EMR, Redshift, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB—to process log‑level data, produce geo‑targeted summaries, and scale elastically. The move cut a 10‑TB data load from about 20 days to six hours, supports thousands of campaigns while adding ~3 TB/month, and reduced infrastructure staffing needs from roughly 40 to 15 people (a 60–75% operational cost reduction).
