Coinbase, the San Francisco-based bitcoin wallet and exchange service, needed a secure, scalable cloud foundation to support rapid global growth and massive transaction volumes. To avoid rebuilding core infrastructure and to gain better real-time analytics, Coinbase chose Amazon Redshift as part of its AWS-based data stack, alongside services like Amazon EMR, Kinesis, and RDS.

Amazon Redshift was used to turn Coinbase’s growing data into structured, actionable warehouse data for business and operational insight. The result was stronger visibility into exchange performance, real-time alerts, and faster decision-making, while Coinbase also scaled to more than 3 million wallet users and expanded its exchange internationally with greater agility and control.
