Amazon Pay’s Curator program helps Kamikoto acquire new customers

Kamikoto, a maker of handcrafted traditional Japanese steel knives, moved to a direct-to-consumer e-commerce model and faced the challenge of acquiring new customers while improving purchase convenience and satisfaction. To simplify checkout and encourage purchases on its site, Kamikoto adopted Amazon Pay so customers could use their Amazon login and stored payment information.

Amazon Pay introduced Kamikoto to its invitation-only Curator program, using Amazon’s advertising and granular targeting to drive high-intent customers to Kamikoto’s product pages and offering sponsored discounts for purchases made with Amazon Pay. Kamikoto added the Amazon Pay button across product pages and, with Amazon Pay’s campaign management, saw a 22 percentage-point increase in transaction volume and a 24 percentage-point increase in revenue, enabling new customer acquisition and plans to expand the Curator engagement.
