A Amazon CloudFront Case Study
TrueCar, a digital automotive marketplace, needed to modernize its aging data‑center infrastructure to handle rapid growth, seasonal demand, and faster product development while keeping costs and operational overhead low. To support high‑volume traffic and media delivery, TrueCar used Amazon CloudFront (with automobile images stored in Amazon S3) as part of its move to AWS to ensure fast, reliable content delivery to consumers and dealers.
Working with AWS and partner CorpInfo, TrueCar migrated thousands of virtual machines to AWS and adopted services including Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Redshift, Amazon ECS/RDS—and Amazon CloudFront for image delivery—to build scalable production and self‑service “Spacepods” development environments. The move eliminated much hardware management, enabled cross‑functional infrastructure‑as‑code workflows, and cut environment provisioning from months to as little as five minutes, allowing TrueCar to innovate faster and support continued growth.
