A Amazon CloudFront Case Study
Spuul, a Singapore‑based streamer of Indian movies and TV shows, needed a cost‑effective, scalable way to deliver high‑resolution video globally and to capture and analyze growing volumes of user and viewing data for billing, content decisions, and a single business dashboard. To meet low‑latency delivery requirements in key markets such as India and the US, Spuul chose Amazon CloudFront as its content delivery network alongside other AWS services.
Using Amazon CloudFront to cache and serve segmented video from Amazon S3, Spuul built its platform on AWS with EC2 and Auto Scaling (4 instances normal → 20+ at peak), RDS, DynamoDB, EMR and an Amazon Redshift warehouse (~30 GB, growing 1–1.5 GB/month) plus Jaspersoft for reporting. The solution launched in just over two months, lets Spuul deliver content worldwide within minutes, produces real‑time reports in seconds, requires only one administrator, saves thousands of dollars in hardware, and reduces piracy while enabling faster business decisions—benefits enabled in part by Amazon CloudFront’s low‑latency delivery.
