Sony DADC New Media Solutions, operating the Ven.ue digital supply‑chain platform, faced rapid growth—storing 20 petabytes of video (growing about 1 PB per quarter) across 1,200+ distribution points—and needed scalable, elastic delivery and to move off costly LTO tape infrastructure. After evaluating cloud providers, NMS chose AWS technologies and uses Amazon CloudFront as its global CDN to accelerate content delivery to customers.

NMS migrated distribution workflows and OTT playout to the AWS Cloud, moved its 20 PB archive to Amazon S3 and Glacier, runs peak workloads on hundreds of Amazon EC2 instances, and uses Amazon CloudFront for global delivery. The result: 20 PB (≈800,000+ hours) available on the platform with on‑demand elasticity for busy seasons, faster project turnaround (from months to days), HDR support with up to 4x file sizes, and avoided multi‑million dollar tape refresh capital—freeing developers to innovate.
