How Artfinder Powers Art-Matching Services Using AWS

Artfinder, an online art marketplace, used AWS to support its website and recommendation tools as it grew from its founding in 2011. The company needed a way to match buyers with artwork they would like, analyze images more effectively, and keep performance strong as traffic increased, including for users outside the U.K.

Using Amazon CloudFront along with Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Machine Learning, Amazon Kinesis Firehose, Amazon EC2, and Amazon Redshift, Artfinder built image-analysis and behavior-based recommendation systems. AWS helped the company launch a prototype in four hours and move it into production within a week, and Artfinder said revenue increased 75% year-over-year in the U.K. in 2016 and 190% in the U.S. in 2016.
