A Amadeus Case Study
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) faced the challenge of weak profitability and intense competition, compelling them to undertake a digital transformation to reduce costs, generate new revenue, innovate, and improve their time to market. To achieve this, the airline partnered with vendor Amadeus, leveraging their e-Retail engine and other digital solutions to overhaul their customer experience across all platforms.
Amadeus established a dedicated Digital Competency Centre for SAS and implemented its Digital Suite, which included solutions like e-Retail and Flexpricer. The results were significant: development costs for small-to-medium projects were cut in half from €4m to €2m, time to market became three times quicker, and sales conversion rates increased by 0.2 to 0.5%. This successful collaboration led to an extended contract with Amadeus and a measurable improvement in both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
