Cendana Capital, a San Francisco–based seed and early‑stage venture investor that tracks 100 fund investments and over 2,200 companies, faced fragmented, Excel‑based data workflows that made reporting, filtering and co‑investor tracking difficult. After a three‑month evaluation led by Partner Kelli Fontaine, Cendana selected Altvia in 2018 to replace its “master portfolio sheet” approach with a Salesforce‑based data management strategy using Altvia’s Answers analytics and LP portal capabilities.
Altvia implemented a configurable data platform and LP portal that centralizes quantitative and qualitative data, enables one‑click filtering (e.g., by fund), and supports custom dashboards and tagging for deeper diligence. The result: faster, more accurate reporting (saving hours on weekly reports), the ability to “ask 20 questions in the time Excel would ask one,” improved trend analysis for portfolio construction, stronger LP transparency, and growing follow‑on interest from larger funds—delivered by Altvia’s team working with Cendana’s existing data architecture.
