The NuoDB Migrator for Moving SQL Data to a NoSQL Database

NuoDB, a leading geo-distributed NewSQL database launched in 2010, needed a reliable way to move and synchronize legacy SQL data without risking data loss, schema mismatch, or prolonged downtime. To solve that challenge, NuoDB partnered with Altoros to create the NuoDB Migrator (and the NuoDB Applier for Tungsten Replicator) to enable easy transfer of SQL databases to NuoDB and to keep SQL and NewSQL stores synchronized.

Altoros implemented the NuoDB Migrator to extract, transform and load data from sources such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others into NuoDB, with support for failure handling, restart/catch-up, reporting and extensible ETL plugins. As a result, Altoros’s solution is cross‑platform, preserves data integrity and relational objects during migration, enables ongoing synchronization via the Tungsten Replicator applier, and removes major obstacles to adopting NuoDB’s geo‑distributed database.
