A Altoros Case Study
ePocket Solutions AS, a Norwegian maker of applications for field service workers, engaged Altoros to build Handyman — a desktop service-management suite and mobile client for iPhone, iPad, and Android. ePocket needed a highly scalable, customizable platform that would measure daily technician productivity, reduce overtime and downtime, lower transportation costs through better scheduling, and simplify billing and invoicing across industries like electrical, utilities, telecom and construction.
Altoros delivered by porting legacy components to VB.NET, adding a plug-in architecture for easy customization, and developing universal UI classes so the same interface works on desktop and mobile devices. The resulting Handyman solution synchronizes office and field, enables task assignment, scheduling, progress tracking and time/location-based reporting for invoicing and route optimization. Altoros’ implementation is widely adopted — nearly 50% of Norwegian electricians use the app daily — helping improve service quality, reduce costs and position ePocket Solutions AS among the global top providers of standardized mobile field-service solutions.
