LikeFolio, a social-network-driven investment analytics app built around the idea of “invest in what you like,” turned to Altoros to improve its Ruby-based system. The site needed to handle high concurrency, rapid user growth, and complex integrations with multiple social networks, but its distributed architecture was struggling with scalability, database contention, and background job processing.

Altoros analyzed the infrastructure, code, and architecture, then reconfigured Amazon EC2, introduced Redis pub/sub to reduce database pressure, and added internal controls to stay within social network API quotas. As a result, LikeFolio could launch marketing campaigns without performance concerns, and Altoros significantly improved the application’s uptime and overall performance.
