Enabling 30% Energy Savings with a Cloud-Based IoT Platform

A Norway-based provider of software solutions for the energy sector turned to Altoros to build a cloud-native back end for tracking real-time power consumption with high availability, scalability, security and GDPR readiness; the company needed a robust IoT platform to ingest data from nonintrusive load monitoring devices and handle inconsistent device APIs and Modbus vulnerabilities. Altoros migrated the production system to Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service, and implemented Spring Security, multifactor authentication, role-based access, and a Modbus gateway to close security gaps.
