Case Study: Belarusian Commercial Bank achieves 1-hour loan decisions and reduced default risk with Altoros' credit-scoring system

A Altoros Case Study

Preview of the Belarusian Commercial Bank Case Study

Building a System for Scoring Creditworthiness

Altoros worked with one of commercial banks operating in Belarus — a lender of small‑ and medium‑business loans (up to $100,000) and consumer loans (up to $10,000) — to develop methods and algorithms for classifying borrower creditworthiness and to build a software scoring system (CS JurPers and CS NatPers) to automate credit decisions.

Altoros implemented two systems: CS JurPers for legal entities (using linear discriminant analysis, logit models and the Ministry of Finance expert methodology) and CS NatPers for natural persons. As a result, the bank cut decision time from 3–5 working days to about 1 hour, launched new credit products, reduced credit default risk, and increased loan turnover and returns.
