Case Study: Taylor & Francis boosts author and reader insights with Altmetric

A Altmetric Case Study

Preview of the Taylor & Francis Case Study

Taylor & Francis Group Providing new insights into how work is discussed online

Taylor & Francis, a leading publisher across many disciplines, wanted to give authors and readers clearer insight into how research was being shared and discussed online. To do that, they needed a simple, reliable solution that could be integrated into existing article pages, and they chose Altmetric and its altmetrics data service.

Altmetric worked with Taylor & Francis to embed Altmetric donut badges on all article pages, giving users access to detailed attention data from policy documents, media, blogs, Wikipedia, and Mendeley. The rollout was supported by blog posts, newsletters, social media, and a Top 20 microsite, and the integration has received a positive response from stakeholders, with authors appreciating near real-time feedback and editors using the data to see which articles are gaining the most traction.
