A Altmetric Case Study
ETH Zurich, a Swiss university specializing in science and technology, sought to enhance its institutional communications and measure the broader impact of its research. To address this challenge, they partnered with Altmetric and implemented the Altmetric Explorer for Institutions to track and report on their outreach efforts.
By using Altmetric's tools, including Explorer and the Altmetric API, the solution provided comprehensive data on where and how their research was mentioned online. This allowed the team to analyze the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and display real-time Altmetric data visualizations on their website. The results included streamlined reporting, a demonstrable showcase of research impact for the public, and the successful integration of altmetrics into student and researcher training programs.
