Spectrum Integrity - Customer Case Study

Spectrum Integrity is an engineering firm that designs ultra-high-speed digital, RF, and microwave PCBs operating from 20 to 110+ GHz. Their proprietary, “outside the box” design process needed to interoperate with standard component libraries and client review workflows, but their legacy schematic tools prevented layout-schematic synchronization, cross-probing, easy exports, viewers, and robust version control, making reviews and iteration slow and disjointed.

They adopted Altium Designer, customizing it for RF and ultra-high-speed work to gain synchronized schematics, integrated supplier libraries, automated BOMs, Gerber export/import for field solvers, easier custom footprints, real-time split power plane updates (saving about 75% of that task), and strong version control plus a free viewer and PDF output. As a result, nearly all designs now use Altium, engineers became productive quickly, customer reviews are faster and clearer, and automated Gerber generation has reduced errors and saved time.
