HitIQ advances concussion monitoring with Altium and 15,000x-per-second impact tracking

HitIQ, a company specializing in concussion research and prevention, faced the challenge of designing an extremely compact and flexible printed circuit board (PCB) to power their smart mouthguard. They needed to integrate advanced sensors and connectivity into a small, wearable form factor while ensuring the design was manufacturable and required collaboration across mechanical, industrial, and firmware engineering teams. To address this, they turned to Altium and its Altium Designer software.

Using Altium Designer's Rigid-Flex PCB capabilities and Constraint Manager, HitIQ successfully developed a durable, highly functional flex PCB tailored to their manufacturer's specifications. The Altium 365 platform, particularly its Web Viewer and cloud storage, created a collaborative environment that accelerated design reviews and streamlined sharing with cross-functional teams. This solution enabled HitIQ to rapidly prototype and deliver their innovative smart mouthguard, a data-driven device that enhances player safety through advanced impact monitoring.
