A Altium Case Study
Cornet Technology, a Virginia-based maker of video, voice and data network switching products, designs large, complex PCBs (typically 12 layers with ~2,000 components and controlled-impedance requirements) for mission-critical applications. Tight schedules (2–3 weeks) and extensive duplicated circuitry demanded a highly flexible, high-performance board‑level design tool to meet reliability and delivery targets.
Cornet adopted the unified Altium Designer environment—using features like intelligent copy/paste, placement rooms, rigorous design-rule checking and advanced layout—to rapidly produce complex multilayer boards. The result: roughly 50% faster project completion, quicker engineer onboarding without formal training, improved productivity and a lower total cost of ownership.
