Case Study: Bosch Rexroth achieves faster, greener electronics design with Altium Designer

A Altium Case Study

Preview of the Bosch Rexroth Case Study

Bosch Rexroth - Customer Case Study

Bosch Rexroth, part of the Bosch Group, set out to make its new Frequency Converter Fe more economical and environmentally friendly by reducing parts, board size and power consumption while improving reliability and stability. Their legacy PCB tool (Protel99) lacked the advanced routing, manufacturing documentation and integration features needed to meet these green-engineering objectives.

Upgrading to Altium Designer gave Bosch Rexroth intelligent pin/part swapping, advanced routing and high-speed analysis plus integrated database links to ERP systems, enabling smaller, leaner boards, better signal integrity and tighter resource control. The move halved development time, cut the sensor-control design cycle from three weeks to two (a 30% efficiency gain), reduced materials, power use and waste, improved reliability and helped the team meet stringent environmental and performance targets while lowering production costs.
