Republic of Korea Marine Corps adopts Altibase for its warfare exercise simulation models of landing and ground operations

The Republic of Korea Marine Corps adopted Altibase to support its aggregate-resolution warfare exercise simulation for shore landing and ground operations. The simulation required seamless data integration, real-time collection/analysis/dissemination, absolute stability with zero tolerance for errors or downtime, strong security, and compatibility with the ROKMC’s existing Oracle-based relational systems — while also reducing escalating Oracle licensing and maintenance costs.

After evaluating multiple databases, ROKMC chose Altibase’s in‑memory hybrid database in 2018. Altibase stores hot data in memory and cold data on disk, is SQL‑compliant and interoperable with existing systems, and supports strong encryption and access control; the migration from Oracle was straightforward. Altibase enabled smooth, error-free simulation runs, improved data-processing speed by over 10×, maintained relational compatibility, and delivered database performance and cost savings at a fraction of Oracle’s cost.
