Paju City, a 400,000‑resident municipality in Gyeonggi Province, launched a U‑City smart city program using city‑wide sensors to monitor traffic, crime, weather and disasters. The city needed a database that could ingest and analyze exponentially growing, real‑time sensor data while meeting tight budget limits and delivering rapid response for emergency situations.
