Korea Transportation Safety Authority adopts Altibase for its automated taxi dispatch service to receive, analyze and send trip requests to nearest taxi drivers in real time

Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) needed a database solution to power an automated taxi dispatch service that could receive multiple ride requests, process passenger and taxi location data in real time, and analyze large historical traffic datasets. TS required both an in-memory DBMS for immediate location processing and an on-disk DBMS for storing and analyzing traffic, stagnation and accident-zone data, and selected Altibase to meet these dual needs.

Altibase was deployed in both in-memory and on-disk modes to provide a single unified DBMS for TS, enabling real-time collection and analysis of 130,000 taxi routes every 5 seconds and seamless MOVE and JOIN operations between memory and disk tables without additional middleware. As a result, TS can manage large volumes of traffic and location information in real time, and Altibase helped cut TCO in half by reducing required licenses and integration middleware.
