Case Study: Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) achieves reliable, secure, always-on private cloud access and lower TCO with Altibase

A Altibase Case Study

Preview of the Korea Electric Power Corporation Case Study

How Altibase's hybrid technology is utilized to provide the company with the security it needs

Korea Electric Power Corporation, South Korea’s largest electricity producer, needed a secure, high-performance database for its K-Cloud web-based cloud computing system to give employees ubiquitous access to company information while preventing unauthorized or malicious use. The company selected Altibase and its hybrid technology to meet these requirements.

Altibase was adopted in 2013 (building on prior deployments since 2006) and deployed in an active‑active configuration to provide high availability, mirrored/clustered DB servers, and integrated backup/storage. As a result, KEPCO’s cloud has delivered reliable, convenient access with preserved data security, zero system failures that would idle employees, sustained productivity, and a much lower total cost of ownership than competing databases — all attributed to Altibase.
