Hoa Soft, a leading independent software vendor for financial security solutions, faced severe performance limits in its TOPS proprietary trading desk system when large volumes of automatic orders flooded an on-disk DBMS. The bottlenecks forced manual trade entry, strained server CPU resources, and made Oracle RAC unaffordable due to high TCO. To address these issues, Hoa Soft turned to Altibase and its replication-enabled database technology.

Altibase implemented an in-memory/replication solution for TOPS with no special hardware, delivering high availability, much lower system resource usage, and a reduced TCO that allowed Hoa Soft to retire Oracle RAC. As a result, TOPS now processes all orders in real time with “extreme speed” (Altibase completed a benchmark in an average of 6:08 vs. Oracle’s 34:47), eliminated trading bottlenecks, and helped Hoa Soft win 21 new global prop desk customers while maintaining competitive pricing.
