China based Top Telecommunications Provider, the world’s largest mobile operator with over 900 million subscribers, faced major billing challenges: its legacy billing system could not integrate charges across services, returned stale balances that prevented accurate customer checks, and suffered bottlenecks and instability under high traffic. To address these issues the customer turned to Altibase and its hybrid in-memory/disk architecture for next-generation integrated billing.

Altibase implemented a hybrid architecture that keeps hot data in memory and moves cold, infrequently used data to disk, reducing database burden and enabling real-time processing. As a result Altibase delivered real-time, accurate billing and improved stability while lowering TCO; transaction throughput rose 280% (from 700 million to 1.96 billion) and system resource usage fell by 84% (from 99% to 15%), eliminating processing delays and enabling instant access to plans and balances.
