A Alteryx Case Study
Yusen Logistics, a global contract logistics and freight-forwarding provider with over 24,000 employees across 45 markets, faced fragmented, manual data processes: ETL was BI- and script-heavy, communication between business users and IT was slow, data quality was hard to monitor, rate checks were manual, and bookings arrived in many file types that required manual entry. These silos and error-prone workflows made it difficult to produce timely, trustworthy reports or connect operational, accounting and CRM data end-to-end.
The Process Management team implemented Alteryx Designer and Server, publishing scheduled workflows to the Gallery and storing blended outputs in Azure. They built ETL and validation flows, automated rate-audit checks via API/JSON parsing, generated XML messages back to the operation system, and used R-based OCR to extract data from PDFs/images. The result: faster report generation, business users empowered to investigate data, real-time data validation, roughly 40% of invoice checks automated, reduced manual work, and higher user satisfaction—moving the company toward more connected, automated data operations.
