A Alteryx Case Study
The World Food Programme’s Regional Office for West & Central Africa partnered with Alteryx-certified analyst Benedetta Tagliaferri and the Information Lab to address a pressing data challenge: managers needed fast, accurate insights on who is food insecure, where they live, and how response operations were progressing across crises in the Lake Chad Basin, the Central African Republic and Mali. Existing workflows relied on Excel and manual merging of Cadre Harmonisé historical figures with operational distribution data, which was too slow and error-prone for timely decision making.
The team built an automated Alteryx pipeline to clean, transform and union the different data sources and output a Tableau Data Extract that refreshes monthly into a manager-facing dashboard. The solution sped up analysis, enabled rapid reallocation of resources, supported advocacy with clearer evidence, broke down data silos and increased data literacy across the organisation.
