VeraData Reduces Doctor Acquisition Costs by 24% at National Children's Cancer Society

VeraData partnered with the National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) to address rising donor acquisition and reactivation costs and a shrinking universe of prospective supporters. NCCS was facing year-over-year increases in the cost to acquire new donors and to reactivate lapsed donors, threatening fundraising efficiency and program support.

VeraData built donor acquisition and lapsed-reactivation models and identified new prospect sources by combining decades of client and external data into a master analytic database, using support vector machine models and tools including Alteryx, R, and Tableau. The work cut NCCS’s cost to acquire a donor by 24%, reactivated a far larger-than-expected volume of lapsed donors (some inactive more than 15 years), and uncovered new list sources delivering acquisition costs within budget, enabling expanded work into digital, mid-level, and major donor strategies.
