Utica College Empowers Students with Alteryx

Utica College, led by Michael McCarthy, Director of Data Science, needed a way to teach practical data skills across its online MS in Data Science program so students from diverse backgrounds could learn state-of-the-art analytics. In 2017 the college adopted Alteryx for Good to give students hands-on experience with modern data and analytics tools.

Utica integrated Alteryx Designer into five of six core MSDS courses, using project-based workflows and Alteryx Community resources to teach everything from data prep to machine learning. The approach supports both non-coders and experienced programmers, accelerates students’ entry into machine learning, and produces graduates with highly marketable data skills.
