A Alteryx Case Study
TravelTime worked with Alteryx to help an example company, Acme Corp, plan a safe return-to-office strategy after COVID-19 restrictions. The challenge was to understand employee commute options, reduce exposure risk, and decide how to allocate staff across five London offices while avoiding crowded public transport routes and busy stations.
Using Alteryx workflows with TravelTime macros, the team geocoded employee and office postcodes, calculated travel times for multiple transport modes, identified high-risk routes, and compared walking/cycling accessibility across offices. Alteryx helped show that Canary Wharf was the least accessible office, with only 233 of 997 employees able to cycle there within 30 minutes and just 11 able to walk there, supporting a data-driven decision on office consolidation with likely savings from avoiding poor retention and commute-related impacts.
