Trane, an Ingersoll Rand company, struggled to transfer HVAC engineering expertise into real-time diagnostic tools for dealers and technicians via its Nexia Diagnostics cloud. The old process required heavy handoffs between HVAC experts and cloud developers to turn lab knowledge and large field datasets (hundreds of billions of rows) into deployable algorithms, causing delays, confusion, and slow time-to-value.

By giving HVAC engineers direct access to data with Alteryx, Trane enabled rapid iteration, easier debugging, and simpler deployment (with Alteryx Server handling versioning). The team moved from two deployed algorithms to delivering 22 customer-facing features in eight months, automated large-scale workflows, and achieved a ~20x improvement in runtime—reducing a key SQL job from about four minutes to ~20 seconds—accelerating time to value and customer impact.
