TerraVeta, a geospatial information firm, needed a faster, more accurate way to build complex aviation charts. The manual process required technicians to pull data from multiple databases and spreadsheets, clean and calculate it, and plot each chart element by hand, which was time-consuming and prone to error. TerraVeta worked with Alteryx, using Alteryx Designer and R as part of the workflow.

Alteryx helped TerraVeta automate data extraction, transformation, and geospatial calculations, then feed the results into CAD software for chart plotting. The solution turned a manual process into an automated, error-free system, cutting chart production time from about two hours to 30 seconds and eliminating human error; the team also noted each chart had taken roughly three hours to complete manually before the automation.
