A Alteryx Case Study
Tecnológico de Monterrey is a private, non-profit Mexican university with 21 international offices and more than 30,000 contributors and professors. In 2018 its Internal Audit team launched a transformation program to simplify analytics, cut costs, prevent fraud and reduce the long, repetitive fieldwork caused by restricted system access and high-volume data processing—while increasing audit frequency, accuracy, knowledge transfer and visibility of results.
The team implemented an Audit Process Automation approach combining UiPath RPA (for data access, extraction and unstructured-data handling) with Alteryx Designer (for data blending, analytics and risk identification) to enable continuous auditing. This solution consolidated and analyzed data, stored histories, published and notified results, and assigned risk owners—significantly reducing complexity, audit time and costs, increasing review frequency, improving risk alerts and decision-making, and strengthening coordination and compliance.
