A Alteryx Case Study
Australian Financial Crime Exchange (AFCX) is a collaboration of Australian banks, government and law enforcement set up to prevent financial fraud and cybercrime. Faced with 11 unique datasets arriving as flat files and a pilot built on Atlassian JIRA/Confluence, AFCX suffered slow processing, UX and data-integrity issues and couldn’t get timely information to stop repeat fraud attempts before they escalated.
AFCX implemented Alteryx Designer and Server in a three-month build to standardize, validate and schedule data via RESTful APIs, map outputs into JIRA and a separate DB (Mongo), and run 24x7 with strong security controls. The platform became the system backbone, cutting processing from seven hours for 7,000 records to about seven seconds (including JIRA push), avoiding headcount increases, eliminating many third‑party add-ons, and enabling real-time analytics and faster fraud detection.
