Siemens, a 380,000‑employee global engineering company, faced a major challenge consolidating financial, productivity and market data across 85 countries for its Smart Infrastructure unit. The finance team relied on massive Excel spreadsheets and 3,000 lines of VBA to produce KPI and productivity reports, a slow, error‑prone process that could take hours and struggled to handle tens of millions of rows of data.

Siemens implemented Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server to automate data preparation and publish extracts directly to Tableau Server on a scheduled basis (every 2–3 hours).
