KB Securities Merges Several Databases to Analyze Customer Data

KB Securities, one of South Korea’s largest investment banks and part of KB Financial Group, undertook a “Big Data Platform Implementation Project” to become more data driven. The firm struggled with more than eight disparate databases (Teradata, Oracle, AWS, SQL Server, Splunk, etc.), varied coding languages across teams, and difficult ETL, JSON log parsing, and scheduling processes that hampered timely customer and mobile‑behavior analysis.

By deploying Alteryx Designer and Server across the Data Analytics and Data Platform departments, KB consolidated multiple sources into unified, code‑friendly workflows, automated ETL, prep & blend (including nested JSON parsing), and added scheduling. The solution eliminated language silos, sped up processing, reduced staffing needs, saved hundreds of hours, improved productivity and UX/UI and streamlined marketing and internal analytics, while enabling future AI/ML automation.
