A Alteryx Case Study
JPMorgan Chase & Co. faced a slow, reactive analytics model where business users relied on development teams to hand-build datasets and reports, then move them via Excel—creating long cycles, repeated work, and a disconnect between data owners and analysts. The bank needed a way to scale self-service analytics across departments while maintaining controls and governance in a global financial environment.
They implemented a four-stage Alteryx rollout—Crawl, Walk, Run, Fly—starting with small pilots, building strong use cases, training departmental champions, and creating reusable frameworks and macros. Alongside IT and control officers they established governance, a user-driven COE, a license and certification program, and firm-wide community channels and resources. The result: rapid adoption (over 1,000 users in just over two years and now 2,000+ Designer users), multiple server environments, standardized development practices, improved reuse and automation, and a growing data-literate community driving enterprise analytics.
