A Alteryx Case Study
Copa Airlines, Panama’s national carrier serving 80 cities in 32 countries, struggled with slow, manual data processes: analysts were downloading and appending hundreds of files in Excel each morning, processing about 115 million rows to meet an 8am deadline, managing fares across ~5,000 markets, and missing revenue from flights that sold out too quickly. The key challenges were speed, accuracy, and the ability to predict and react to booking dynamics.
Using Alteryx, Copa automated analytics and pricing with modular workflows (Transform, Homologate, Strategy Engine, Validate, Report), predictive models for booking curves, and Server deployment that emails actionable outputs to analysts. The result: drastically reduced manual work, fewer fare-filing errors, faster, more accurate reports, identification of flights at risk of selling out (recovering last-minute revenue), and the ability to process 300M+ rows in about 1.5 hours, driving broad adoption across the company.
