Case Study: Taboola achieves analytics-driven, automated HR with Alteryx

A Alteryx Case Study

Preview of the Taboola Case Study

Building Analytic-Driven HR Culture at Taboola

Taboola, the world’s largest open-web discovery platform with ~1,200 employees across 19 offices and 20,000 applicants per quarter, needed to transform HR into an analytics-driven function. Recruiting generated the largest data volumes, HR systems produced inconsistent entries, and many critical processes (like a two‑month compensation approval run in Google Sheets) were manual and slow. The challenge was to embed repeatable analytics and automation into HR workflows while preserving human judgment.

Taboola built a people‑analytics stack on Alteryx—using ETL, a centralized data warehouse, and API connections to BambooHR, their ATS, Redshift, Google Sheets, Gmail and JIRA—to automate data pipelines, backups, reporting and task management. A two‑step data‑quality workflow creates and closes JIRA tickets for errors, and automated compensation and org‑chart workflows replaced manual processes. Outcomes include catching 3.4 new errors/day (91% resolved), 1,000+ historical errors fixed, approval errors <1%, payroll errors <0.5%, near‑real‑time refreshes (30–60 minutes), and a small people‑analytics team delivering scalable value without IT.
