Paychex, a payroll and HR services company, faced a distribution challenge: each month its analytics team scored ~600,000 clients across two dozen predictive models (upsell, cross-sell, retention, credit risk), but getting tailored lists to many different end-users — each needing specific filters like region, industry, or employee count — was slow and labor-intensive. The team needed a way for users to self-serve model results without relying on a central analyst to filter and send massive client lists.

The solution was a prototype Alteryx Server app hosted on Paychex’s private Gallery that automates ETL into YXDB/CYDB and Calgary-format databases, builds per-client attribute keys (12 attributes) and model keys, and uses fast Calgary joins to return filtered results in ~10–30 seconds. End-users pick models and optional client filters through a simple app, download CSV outputs, and no longer wait for analysts to distribute lists — improving speed, scalability, and operational efficiency.
