Al‑Futtaim Automotive, a Dubai‑based provider of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and full automotive services across the Middle East, Asia and Africa, faced a major compliance challenge after the UAE introduced a 5% VAT in 2018. Its finance team must validate and reconcile more than 300,000 tax‑applicable transactions each month to ensure invoices and pricing comply with the law, a process that had been slow, manual and error‑prone when done in Excel.

Using Alteryx Designer connected to SAP and other master data sources, the finance team built automated workflows that validate each transaction, flag true/false cases, analyze root causes and produce dashboards for the Finance Head and CFO. The solution is shared across finance teams on Alteryx Server, automated complex reconciliations, and saved about 8 work days per month (roughly three months of work per year), improving compliance, enabling root‑cause fixes and freeing time for analytics and forecasting initiatives.
