Adidas Western Europe eCommerce was growing rapidly and needed a more accurate, detailed, and flexible operational forecasting tool. The team had to produce daily country‑level forecasts for 17 markets—accounting for local marketing events, launches and market specificities—while managing disparate data sources and calendars, where forecasting errors carried significant operational cost.
They built Alteryx workflows to centralize all marketing calendars into a single events database, generate “genes” that tag day/market event profiles, and combine those with weekly targets to derive daily sales and order allocations, visualized in Tableau with manual override capability. The result was a daily, more accurate and flexible forecast, reduced operational costs, improved warehouse and customer‑service planning, a shared events calendar for stakeholders, and substantial time savings from automating previously manual processes.
