Springhill Medical Center, a hospital in Alabama, partnered with Altera Digital Health to manage its IT infrastructure and support its electronic health record system, Sunrise EHR. The challenge was to maintain and optimize a complex technology environment to improve operational efficiency, patient safety, and financial performance.

The solution was a long-term, onsite Managed Services team from Altera Digital Health. This team developed and implemented tailored solutions including an automated expenditure request system, an Opiate Stewardship program within Sunrise, and the co-development of Sunrise Financial Manager. The measurable results were significant, including a reduction in Narcan rescues from 33 to 9, a decrease in accounts receivable days to 38, and the achievement of HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 status.
