Inland Empire Health Plan brings benefits of data interoperability to 1.25 million members

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), a non-profit public health plan serving 1.25 million members, faced the challenge of gathering real-time patient data across its massive and diverse provider network. Relying on faxes and manual site visits to collect information for hospital admissions documentation was inefficient and hindered its ability to administer timely, quality care. To overcome this, IEHP turned to Altera Digital Health for its dbMotion Solution, an interoperability platform designed to integrate patient data from numerous disparate sources.

Altera Digital Health implemented the dbMotion Solution, which integrated discrete patient data from over 100 sources including hospitals, labs, and physician offices into a single view. This provided IEHP with real-time access to critical information such as lab results, drastically improving efficiency and care coordination. The solution enabled one of the fastest and most successful implementations IEHP had seen, including a system configuration completed in just 45 days for a new Health Home program. This access to real-time data was a game-changer, allowing the health plan to stay directly connected to member care and improve patient outcomes.
