How Phoenix Children’s Hospital uses dbMotion Solution for seamless interoperability

Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a major pediatric hospital, needed a more efficient way to access and integrate patient information from outside health systems to provide complete care for its complex cases. The challenge was that external clinical data was difficult to obtain quickly, often requiring slow methods like faxing, which hampered timely decision-making and risked unnecessary repeat testing for patients. To solve this, they worked with vendor Altera Digital Health to implement the dbMotion Agent Hub interoperability solution.

The solution from Altera Digital Health, the dbMotion Agent Hub, was integrated with the hospital's Allscripts Sunrise EHR to seamlessly identify, organize, and deliver outside clinical data directly into clinician workflows. This provided physicians with immediate, harmonized patient information at the point of care. The results were highly positive, with 2,700 clinician users providing phenomenal feedback. The implementation dramatically improved workflow efficiency, enabled critical real-time decisions, and enhanced patient safety by significantly reducing the need for duplicate diagnostic tests and associated radiation exposure.
